“Be there for others,
but never leave yourself behind”
Every one of us does a lot for other people.
Our lives revolve around us taking care
of our loved ones, friends and family.
But what about us?
How much time do we give to ourselves every day?
We can give ourselves important self-care time
and
look after those we love because —
there are enough hours in the day!
Prioritizing both
means that we are using our days wisely
and that we have control of our time.
Plus,
we are staying balanced
by caring for ourselves
as well as looking after others.
Never be so busy
looking after someone else’s
mental and physical health
that we neglect our own.
And if you really are too busy
then stop
and re-arrange your time
during the day.
Because you are just as important
as those you are caring for.
We must never neglect
our own self-care
but make that routine
of (at least) ten minutes every day
to rest, refresh and renew
our minds and our bodies.
By doing this,
we will always have something of ourselves
to give to others.
It is noble to look after others
and
it is sensible to look after ourselves.
