Be Realistic

A War Cry Against Pessimists

By H. J. LevonPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Be realistic,

A mode of expression to sell yourself short–

For I will not go gentle in the wake of those that project fear and death onto the human spirit

Be realistic,

“Play it safe,” I refuse to comply and defer my dreams to build another man's nightmare

Be realistic,

“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you,” as I tear off both with fangs bared

Be realistic,

“Know your place," impossible, the morning star does not dim his light

Be realistic,

“Get a job,” I have life and from life, I create courage in the abstract

Be realistic,

“Mind your tongue,” never

Be realistic,

“Explain yourself,” no

Sincerely,

- H. J. Levon

Powerful, we do not have to accept reality if we have the dream and will to change it. Excellent poem.
