Be My Guest

The Journey of Every New Year

By Ralph SmithPublished about a year ago 1 min read

As I arrive, everyone celebrates,

Exchanging wishes with joy that elates.

In February, love fills the air,

Hearts unite with affection to share.

By March, the heat begins to rise,

For businessfolk, challenges multiply.

April brings its playful cheer,

With jokes and pranks for all to hear.

In May, they ponder, "Perhaps it's fine,"

But June's regrets cloud the sunshine.

By July, joy starts to wane,

Hints of sorrow in every refrain.

August feels like a heavy sigh,

September whispers, "Nothing’s awry."

In October, distress takes form,

Emotions swirl, a brewing storm.

Come November, I prepare to part,

And their relief fills every heart.

In December, they cheer my leave,

Ready for the next guest to receive.

As I depart, I wish them cheer:

"Welcome the next, and a Happy New Year!"
