Be Leaf in Me
Oh mighty tree teach me you ways to survive my worst

Be Leaf in Me
Be leaf in me oh mighty tree
roots deep where no one sees
branches sway with quiet grace
leaving shadows on my face
I reach, I stretch, I hum along
with every wind, with every song
my bark is rough, my sap is sweet
I stand unshaken on my feet
Whisper to me your ancient ways
teach me patience in your days
for in your shade, in your height
I find the courage to hold the light
Seasons turn and still I grow
through snow and rain,
through sun and woe
each ring inside my wooden chest
a story of survival, a test
Leaves may fall, yet I remain
feeling joy, enduring pain
my limbs may tire, my trunk may bend
I rise again, I do not end
Birds will rest upon my limb
wind will carve its secret hymn
and every storm that shakes my frame
only fuels the quiet flame
Teach me how to stand, to breathe
to give, to take, to simply be
oh mighty tree, be leaf in me
root my soul, set my spirit free

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
