On Ethiopia's soil, where the mountains rise,

A battle rages, under azure skies.

At Adwa's pass, in the year of '96,

A clash of nations, in a fateful mix.

The Italian army, with guns and might,

Marched to conquer, in their imperial flight.

But Ethiopia stood, with courage bold,

Defending her freedom, in the story told.

Led by Emperor Menelik, brave and true,

Ethiopia's forces, with pride they grew.

Warriors of old, with spears and shields,

They faced the invaders, across the fields.

The battle raged, with ferocious roar,

As Ethiopian warriors, their honor swore.

Against modern weapons, they held their ground,

Defending their homeland, with valor renowned.

With bravery and cunning, they fought the foe,

Inflicting heavy losses, blow by blow.

And when the dust settled, and the smoke cleared,

Ethiopia emerged victorious, revered.

The Battle of Adwa, a triumph so grand,

A symbol of freedom, across the land.

For Ethiopia stood, against the tide,

And preserved her independence, with strength and pride.

So let us remember, in history's light,

The Battle of Adwa, where freedom took flight.

For Ethiopia's valor, forever shall be,

A beacon of hope, for all to see.
