In twilight’s hush, where shadows creep,
A silent wing begins to sweep,
Bats take flight in dusky air,
A midnight dance beyond compare.
With velvet wings so sleek and black,
They dart and glide, then turn right back,
A whisper in the moonlit sky,
A mystery that’s passing by.
They hang upside down in caves deep,
In silent dreams, they softly sleep,
Until the stars begin to gleam,
And then they wake, like a dream.
Echolocating calls so clear,
They navigate with no fear,
From forest gleam to city lights,
They weave through darkness, silent flights.
Not just creatures of the night,
But guardians of the ecosystem’s light,
Pollinating flowers, controlling pests,
In nature’s balance, they are blessed.
So here’s to bats, both brave and shy,
Masters of the shadowed sky,
A wonder of the dark, so vast
A marvel of the night at last.
