A villanelle

Devotion to you is my piety,

Heart pounding each time, not ashamed to confess;

Every sip of you, anxiety.

Paralyzed by your variety,

I gasp at your touch upon the French press;

Devotion to you is my piety.

Let's drown ourselves in sobriety.

With heart in foam, my elixir you bless;

Every sip of you, anxiety.

An addiction praised by society,

Savour each note, in my mouth you undress;

Devotion to you is my piety.

My sixth time today. Notoriety?

Your mouth, the O at the end of espress-

Every sip of you, anxiety.

Thirst quenched sans impropriety,

I know you'll be here, need not your address;

Devotion to you is my piety,

Every sip of you, anxiety.

Villanelle
