A Short Poem

I left once before

took a seat by the bartender

just to get some relief

I surrounded myself with

harsh looking men & stolen glances

dark bourbon filled the glasses

& it reminded me of him

as I drowned my sorrows

the thought of being alone

scared me more than the man I loved

I rather be with him

sad poetry
