A poem

The bamboo talks to me

in the wind

Be still my girl

and know

they will all leave in the end

Hear me out

be calm

This is why we bend

to the wind

with no end

We flex and stretch so we do not break

the wind is strong

cruel

angry

Even the wind,

though,

leaves sometimes

giving us a moment of rest

When the wind returns

we are blown

strewn around

upon its exit

once again

we stand tall and proud

then, again,

the bamboo talks to me in the wind

Be still my girl

When they leave

you will find your way

The sun will shine again

To brighten your day!

About the Creator

Julie Fodor

I’ve lived my life kind of in a daze. Not sure where the years have gone but have found that now I have stories to tell. My kids are grown and the husband out the door, I have ventured off to find out what I want to be. Will it be a writer?
