you pledge to make my life sweet and heavenly

then turn your backs and gossip relentlessly

i thought you would stay and comfort me

you did.

you said you'd stay but it seems to have been a false hope

i guess the truth has come and it stings like a mosquito bite

the paparazzi here to light the fires surrounding all your halos

my bamboo stalks forced to know nothing else but the smoke

and damn, they love to burn. constantly.
