Balance of Gain and Loss

I was taught that hate is dark.

I was taught that love is light.

Night brings fear as wild dogs bark.

Day brings peace as doves take flight.

Was I made to love or in hate carry on?

Daily events of life, my thoughts often blur.

The worst times to understand it are at dusk and at dawn.

To know love or to lose love, Both will always occur.

Knowledge of love now. Memories of love past.

Hope of love tomorrow. All the joy and all the pain.

Can I survive this round? Is it over or will love last?

I will survive! Without darkness, light cannot gain.

Though it hurts sometimes, I should not fight.

Love brings joy. Love brings sadness. We need the day and the night.

I really like this, especially about how people are taught to believe things I think it really succeeded in balancing the light and dark throughout
