Backpacks and Roadways

Where are we on those?

By Colleen WaltersPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

When I saw this photograph, the first

Thing that came to my mind is that

I have such faith that I could sleep on the

White line that I travel, and wake rested.

With no fear of being run over.

I’m quite confident, for the most part.

I’m so tired.

Mentally and emotionally, mostly .

Exhausted, is more like it.

My Life Backpack holds but a few

Things that I have carefully sorted

Through. The most important things

Are located closer for easier access,

And the least important in the back.

There are surprisingly few things

In there because I’m good at sifting

The chaff out.

Music is a large part. Memories not a

Huge part, surprisingly.

35,506 texts that I’ve deleted

And then un-deleted.. I

Put all my eggs in one basket, and then

Wonder why I would do that..lolol

School’s in there, and the late nights

Turning in assignments on time.

Hopes and dreams don’t take up

Much room because my future is in

God’s hands. He leads me to where I’m

To go, and my Backpack isn’t loaded with

Stuff He tells me either. I speak it so that

I don’t have to store it.

I’ve learned to lighten my load pretty well

For the most part.

So join me for a bit while I take a nap on

this road - it’s foot traffic only.

I wouldn’t do it otherwise…

I could use a pillow, by the way
