Babylon

A Poem

By Travis MccrackinPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Welcome to Babylon

Travis McCrackin

There it is

Open

Walk through it

Join the procession (like everyone else)

Curiosity abated (don’t ask, don’t tell)

Shuffle sedated (addicted to direction)

Across the threshold

Spark the conflagration (feel what I say)

Discourse barbecued (argue anyway)

Facts alternatively used (truth is a distraction)

Objectivity bought and sold

There it is

Open

Walk through it

The door to a land

Where question is despised

A land only comprised

Of people staring

Dead eyes devoid of any introspection

Now Huxley laughs I told you so's from the grave...

Welcome to Babylon

Where even the prose is conned

Please enjoy your stay
