Through countless years shaded grey, black and white
find hope and solace in changing yellow lights.
From the red-hot pain smeared across my face,
to golden arms of a loved ones embrace.
I look around me at the blue-hued sky
and start to wonder whether not or why
I can hear her cry, I can see him shrink,
in purple distance I begin to think.
If all the colors in the rainbow glowed
brighter than troves filled with treasures and odes,
would not humanity’s purest white light
shine brighter still through the cold and dark night?
I hold in my mouth this hope full of truth
like the clinging grip of my baby tooth.
