Away in Heart

Inside the hourglass

of love,

there is moonshine

and heartbeats playing

a tune you cannot hear,

unless you're still at peace,

kindred souls feel the yearning,

undying whispers,

and the song

the words told,

and unheard,

melody,

silent,

and yet gleaming

in every sunny tear.

I hold you for all time,

I want,

and stay,

I yearn,

to calm sea of doubt

and despair,

to grow a jasmine garden

with this ivy,

I will not look back

to the pain,

you bring me sunshine

and the will

to make my light

ours.

In tempest

or in sunshine

I have you,

soul has but one shelter

beyond hate,

no precipice will wait

to take away last candle,

this light

is not borrowed from ghosts

we set spirit ablaze

time passes, and this breath

becomes tomorrow,

ever after,

in you,

I have my happy place.

Home is inside each heartbeat,

if we go on this road

or stay,

I care not what the wind may bring,

as long as I still hold

your hand,

your smile,

that loving gaze

into the ocean

of an endless

love.

Belong at home,

on this moonbeam

it knows us from lifetimes ago,

when we first thought

hearts needed rest,

when we knew song was ours,

we found the words

and wrote

our happy ending.

Beginning once again,

no word can stop a waterfall,

a fire rainbow in your heart

finds mine,

flees above clouds

in chasing heart,

loving embrace

I left my soul in your arms,

there it stays,

no fear

and no loss,

I am at peace

inside your smile

where sunshine dwells.
