Awaken

Lisa A Richardson

By Lisa RichardsonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

And then tomorrow to the work...

but what of today?

The sun is just now starting to set

a glorious, juicy orange

why not take a bite

of this night

with me?

Should sticky, sweet juices

trickle down our chins

let ouor tongues dance then

waltzing

with each tiny droplet

Let me take your hand

descend into that velvet cloak

let us walk

bathed in the moonlight

while stars

strange and beautiful

reflecting

in our eyes

Amidst the cotillion of dancing tree bones

serenaded by the evening's wind song

let me lay you down

quilt for you a blanket

of castaway flesh and dance cards

Will you follow me then,

let me wash your hair

in the river of silver

where mirrored planets dance

and Northern Lights rain fire?

Will you immerse yourself

with me

in the cool waters

awakening

to this night?
