Aw-shucks

On vulnerability

By Daniel KPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

I dove through countless waters,

pushed my lungs to their limit,

nearly drowned in brine,

losing myself with every breath.

I searched the ocean floor,

cracking oyster after oyster,

finding the pearl in

the hardest to open

and I thought of your heart

and the walls you’d built around it.

About the Creator

Daniel K

I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
