Autumn Leaves

Give me a Fall Day

Mesmirizing hues enchant the quiet woods

Slowly I gaze just pass the dancing tree tops

Clouds steal away my attention where I stood

A gentle drift so unhurried even with rain drops

But it is something else that takes the prize

Lost among the blue and birds in flight

A small brown leaf dances catching my eye

Wisked upwards and twirls just like a kite

This particular leaf is the envy of so many

Their attempts of flight having ended

Leaves grounded on the path scattered gently

But this autumn leaf soars as intended

As I exit the woods just past the clearing

Leaf floats without rest but still not weary

Another glance. without care of what the day brings

This autumn leaf leads me home just nearly
