🍂Autumn Falls

Fall Leaves.

By Antoni De'LeonPublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

🍂

A house made of leaves

collapses with every breath

still, the door remains.

*

Beneath the old oak,

Leaves glow with ancestral fire

Dreams dissolve in Red.

*

Autumn's golden hues

Through russet windows rustle

Fleeting Amber shush.

*

Raven stirs a branch

Autumn transforms...awakens

Gold Leaves romp. Rot.

*

Leaves drift through the dusk,

each one a faded whisper

from a vanished room

*

Wind rearranges

our shadows on broken paths

gold clings to silence .

I like this— each haiku could stand in its own but they flow so nicely to make one whole. The last two are my favorites, they feel somber. As much as I love fall and fall festivities there is a sense of quiet loss when summer dies, and your poems capture that well

  • Two wonderful rhymes and six lovely autumnal haiku
