The leaves on the maples,
in hues of orange and yellow,
stir up cliches
about halcyon days
when that final horizon
seemed so far away;
times when it was
unimaginable
that I would ever be
this fragile shell
of my former self;
the veil between
autumn and winter
ever so thin.

Soulful words, well done.
Depressingly beautiful. So well done for such a quick turnaround!
"The veil between autumn and winter ever so thin" I feel that thin line very much
