Atmospheric Audacity

A Tale of Two Seasons

The atmospheric audacity of autumn surrendering to winter is chilling.

Cuddling with three blankets sweetly sleeping,

morning arrives, but I’ll just stay in the bedding.

My bones already warned me before I woke to a morning frosting.

Yet, the gilded glimmer on the glistening grass is always thrilling.

Inhaling deeply to exhale the monumental mist of moisture’s cold breath is winter’s smoke-signal messaging.

Clean, crisp, cool air caressed and cloaked my skin, as chill bumps raised each villous hair high as though saluting.

Even so, the wicked winter air continues its brazen beckoning.

Autumn’s lush landscape painting fills its colorful canvas with vivaciously vivid spicy, gold, red, and brown tones brilliantly breathtaking.

Winter’s monotonal mix of white, blue, and silver revelation is a serene, somber, and pure portrait, perfect for reflecting, renewing and revitalizing.

Eagerly embellishing the earth with snow and icy accoutrements, winter is diabolically enchanting.

Chilled air and snow shrouds the world with a surrealistic sound-absorbing cushioning.

Such a strange, yet serendipitous silencing, to quell the year’s constant clamoring.

Today, I stand with arms wide open absorbing the freshest tip of winter air rejoicing,

soon, my ritualistic fall to the glowing white ground will make snow angels with arms and legs fluttering.

Searching each day for more wondrous wintry frolicking,

knowing these magical moments will end with the melting.

Until then, the razzle dazzle of the crystalline displays I’ll be cherishing.

Excited to experience anew the alluringly and spectacular seasonal transitioning,

because I always love the first burst of fresh, cold air as autumn turns into winter’s soft landing.
