Stillness rests on the edge of the horizon,
like a feather settling into the air,
untouched by the storm beneath.
Clouds roll, heavy with thunder’s threat,
but I stand, a mountain unmoved,
while winds howl around the cliffs of my being.
The world rages, yet here,
in the eye of it all,
I find a calm that whispers:
the storm is not mine to carry.
**Ataraxia**
Silence drapes itself over the mind,
like twilight over the sea, endless and soft.
Waves crash, distant and hungry,
but they fade before they reach my shores,
lost in the expanse of something deeper.
I am the leaf that drifts in the current,
unconcerned with where it leadss.
for there is no end, only this moment,
where nothing can disturb the quiet inside.
In this stillness, I wear ataraxia like a second skin,
unmoved by the chaos that lingers outside
As I subtly drain
rain pours from inside
