At the Beach

a song never written

By Mary Linda BauerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Palm trees swaying

children playing

kites are flying

my heart is crying

Waves on the shore

bring peace no more

She's forever gone

Took my heart along

at the beach

People are sailing

my heart is ailing

Like watching a movie

but without me

Will my heart mend

losing my best friend

rum runner in hand

Listening to the band

at the beach

Watching the tide

Something brushes my side

Sitting down beside me

An awesome beach beauty

Startled I gazed

I felt her, was amazed

She smiled, I felt the sun

A new journey had begun

at the beach

My spirit was lifting

My mind was drifting

We took a walk

and began to talk

Seeing a new light

No sadness in sight

A life without end

I've found a new friend

at the beach

We sat in the sand

As she took my hand

An end to my sorrow

A better tomorrow

Palm trees swaying

Children playing

Kites are flying

My heart's not crying

at the beach

Leaving the world behind

Another love to find

a broken heart to mend

and make a happy end

at the beach.

heartbreak
