Ashes to Rainbows

Love in 50 Words

By Andrea Corwin Published 12 months ago 1 min read

her love, breath, joy

lost in empty house

crammed with haunting

memories of decades

sleep and hunger elude her

tears track her face

throat husky from grief

💔

on the day she buried his ashes

a rainbow stretched across the sky

and colors danced on her face

his smile for her

This is so heartbreaking but also so beautiful. The way you described the rainbow at the end😩—it felt like a little sign of hope, like he’s still with her somehow.
