Ashes of Yesterday

(Fragmented Memories)

Sunlight paints cracks upon the wall,

Ghosts of laughter whisper, then enthrall.

Each creak of floorboard, a forgotten tune,

Haunts this hollow shell, beneath the moon.

Empty picture frames hold stolen smiles,

A tapestry of what once beguiled.

Scattered trinkets, echoes of delight,

Now dust-laden remnants, lost to sight.

Love's embers smolder, cold and gray,

The ache of absence lingers here all day.

Each corner whispers, a name untold,

A story shattered, left out in the cold.

But dawn will break, and shadows fade,

New paths to carve, with memories unweighed.

Though scars may whisper, etched in deep,

A heart can mend, and learn to leap.
