Ashes of Hope

Once, we held hope in trembling hands,

But it slipped away, like grains of sand,

Now we stand in the ruins of dreams,

Lost in a world of silent screams.

The fire burned bright, but now it’s cold,

Ashes remain where warmth was told,

And though we search for a spark, a sign,

All we find are shadows, undefined.
