When fire burns claiming us all

We bare the marks as ashes fall

Leaving a path of warning, call

Baring the marks as ashes fall

We wash the wound and cover all

Ashamed to show where ashes fell

Deny the pain of the assault

Surprised the healing, healed so well

We learned to walk because we crawled

The lies of ashes were all false

A welcomed calm ore us befalls

As we stood washed, as ashes fell

Emotionally we rise and fall

Content to let the ashes fall

Knocking down the doors and walls

Now welcoming ash through it all

No longer pressed made to feel small

Because we let the ashes fall

Rough times are hard to shred; you give it all in this piece. Heartfelt, strong, and to me, an emotionally charged poem.

  • This was extremely powerful! Well done
