As I Went Through a Dental Procedure
The cost of healthcare made me sad

A molar tooth had got decayed,
after decades of tolerating abuse,
junk food, hot, cold, acids.
The caries was close to the nerves,
was in risk of infecting it,
the dentist decided to give a
a root canal procedure.
It was painful surgery,
even with anesthesia,
it had its agonies.
But what was more concerning
is the cost of healthcare.
Even after insurance,
it cost a huge $450!
That was just one tooth.
So many body parts,
which can fall apart.
A family with many members,
all vulnerable,
in an inflammatory era.
Once someone gets a health issue,
diagnosis, and treatment will follow,
and money will drain.
But earning ways are harsh,
it takes peace of mind,
family time, health itself,
job arena is turning dry.
It’s really sad, earning spending
not is balance, feels insecure.
After this uneasy experience,
I resolved to myself
to be even more careful,
to guard health,
to not need more interventions,
and advise you too.
Note: How is the cost of medical care in your place?

Such an honest look at how health, money, and peace of mind are all sadly linked together.
Good work and sharing. I had a root canal done years ago when I was younger, but I did have anesthesia just a shot of Novocain in my gum to deaden the nerves. Not sure of the cost for that was years ago, and now I have Medicaid that I hardly use for 'knock wood' I am pretty healthy human.
