As I Infiltrate
Submission to D.K. Sheperd's Unofficial Challenge

Vines pulse and trap me, rhythmic as my heart
Opted to discover the unwanted part of me
Constrict! I yell, in hope the truth fossilizes in place
Anguish fills me, nearing the part I most hate of myself
Leaving my body, never returning to face my deepest covered self burn

This is my entry for D.K. Shepard’s Vocal Acrostic Challenge. If you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to peek at the link below. It's such a great idea. For my poem, I'm submitting for the Enlightening Literature category.
Also, if you have a minute, D.K. shared a questionnaire with her post that is worthwhile to fill out.
Thank you for reading!
