Arthritis

A horrible thing to own

Quiet Battles

In the quiet places of each step,

a hidden pulse of pain resides,

where feet and knees remember days

they would walk an unlimited stride.

Now each step leans on patience,

painkillers dull but do not ease,

the ache that or the sleepless nights,

with sleep to come, a distant test.

Yet still, each day, I push ahead,

unbroken, though the rest is lost.

For strength is found in every step,

no matter what the cost

This poem captures the constant struggle and quiet resilience that come with chronic pain. The line about "each step leaning on patience" really hits home, it’s a reminder of just how much strength it takes to get through each day. Chronic pain can be so isolating, and poetry like this brings voice to that daily, silent battle. For pain relief and better sleep, CBD might be worth looking into. A lot of people dealing with chronic pain and insomnia find it helps reduce inflammation and discomfort without the heavier side effects of stronger meds. It’s gentle enough for daily use, and some say it’s especially helpful at night for winding down and getting some much-needed rest. Just be sure to check in with your doctor first to make sure it fits with any current treatments.
