Arise and Shine

Sun hath cometh

By Colleen WaltersPublished 2 months ago Updated 2 months ago 1 min read

A beautiful day

a beautiful start

to a captivating opportunity

to paint a masterpiece on a

pristinely blank canvas

broad strokes of sunshine

and hope sparkling through

dew- kissed trees

a layer of wispy fog flirts

with the earth

did you see it?

did you open your eyes and

think, " wow, look at me

I'm still here... I woke up again!"

we don't appreciate the sunrise

enough

we know that every single morning

starts with the sun rising

without fail

even when it's cloudy

we still know the sun is up

that's a " ho hum..." for some

and a "yabba dabba doo!" for others

in a perfect world, people

would wake up in the morning

and jump around, yelling

" woo hoo, look everybody!

I'm still here! Thank you, God!"

everyone would know that He is

ready to take their problems

away and give them hope and

a newfound joy for living

every single morning

all their worries left in the

rearview of yesterday

we would pick jobs that make

us happy instead of higher paid

we would start being happy

right now instead of waiting on

self- imposed timelines to chase

our dreams and make them real

Nope.

we'd be out there chasing our dreams

like the 3rd monkey on Noah's ramp

and it's sprinkling

( he got on btw, he was a different kind)

tomorrow was never promised

and yesterday is gone so

right here and now is all we have

so live it

don't leave it for another day

don't leave a eulogy of

" I coulda, shoulda, woulda"

so get out there

get ready

cause when that sun comes

up in the morning

it means you get another day!

we just don't give

waking up enough credit.
