Architect

A vast anchor, settled in the depths of the deepest ocean of humanity, you provide a safe place. A place where emotions float freely to the surface, their iridescence catching the sun in a rhythmic flash of color as they bob like buoys on the surface. Feelings roll in like waves and emotions drift up and down and to and fro, but you are there to keep them stable. An immovable anchor to keep the emotions from being pulled under or fractured upon the jagged rocks with every wave.

How do you know what you know? How do you assess someone in mere minutes and know everything about them, including their childhood? An uncanny ability that transcends what most can know or comprehend, an intuitiveness that is stunning to watch in action.

You re-design tears into beautiful waterways used for transport feelings and emotions to their proper places, you re- invent bitterness into stepping stones to forgiveness, with attention given to every detail in form and function. You pull numbness out from the shadows so that it can be re-designed into an emotive feeling.

You remodel broken hearts by adding another storey and giving them room to expand and grow, and your vision for ailing spirits is to re-imagine them with cathedral ceilings where angels sing.

You see this world not as it is, with its cracked foundations and crooked doors, but as what it could be with a fresh perspective and a new solid foundation. Your compassion, not just for your friends and family but also your clients, is beyond. Your concern for the well-being of residents of buildings built along busy highways, and how the noise and vibrations can cause negative impacts and an inability to thrive, and it's something I never considered until you brought it up while we were on the highway. Most people would be more concerned about the money and not the long-term effects of a location. You have integrity, you do the right thing when no- one's looking . You try to help everyone you meet in some way, and never consider time wasted if you are able to make someone's life better. You treat the cashier with great respect and kindness because no person is below your station in life. Your humility is so genuine and you are authentic to the core. Your servant's heart is your driving force, what makes your soul beautiful and your heart a deep well.

You made a career out of finding out what people like, but also what they need and then joining the two to create beautiful form with optimal function. Your job is not so much to pitch tangible goods, but ideas and visions and how you imagine things from your perspective. You can't help but change our view along the way. Because of you, we can re- imagine our own lives, knowing that you're there every step of the way. That we'll know the future, but by then it will be the past, and that everything will be better than OK. I just don't know how you do it, but you do. You ease burdens, you give compassion, you build tired spirits up again, you never get tired of helping people. One minute you're driving someone's car with no AC to the repair shop for repair, and the next you're at the Joshua House foster home, asking what needs you can meet as one of their benefactors. You shun accolades or a pat on the back because this is who you are,... someone who sees the least of us as the greatest. Someone who doesn't try to change anyone, but who sees the real us and gives us the tools to be the best version of our own selves.

You're kind, you're generous, you're intelligent, you're inquisitive. But most off all, you're humble. You were once considered the least of us by many, for a big part of your life. You never gave up. You never let it change you. I have witnessed the giving of your entire being to raise someone up high enough to reach their hopes and dreams that had been placed out of their reach.
