Do you realize you listen to everyone in the room except me?
You'll ask a viewpoint question
and let everybody speak
except me
"Let her speak", someone said
And later you pointed out how quiet I was at dinner
Do you realize you silenced me by talking over me the moment I'd start to say a word?
I realized when you interrupted me to say you were leaving that perhaps most of what I have to say is meaningless or at the least just boring
You don't really seem to do that to others
I know this doesn't sound very poetic
but it's the only thought(s) I have to pen
(It's crazy how small apathy can make someone feel. Yes, that someone is me. I'm learning sometimes we have to listen to these feelings. I'm learning to notice how others make me feel. I don't have to surround myself with your apathy)

A raw poem about feeling unheard and learning to value your own voice
This really hits home. I've been in situations where I felt like my thoughts were being ignored. It's frustrating. You mention being interrupted when trying to speak. Has that ever led to you just not sharing your ideas anymore? How do you think we can make sure we're truly listening to everyone?
