Anticipation
Oh, joyous early imaginings
It's just incredible how a few days of messaging can build up such excitement, like a volcano, or a rocket building momentum before it explodes off into space.
Almost too much excitement, but a welcome, beautiful haze. A happy distraction, a diversion of emotions into a happier place. Those early days where you don't know enough about someone, and you want to know more, you want to know everything, you want to understand.
You coil your hair as you talk, and your heart feels full to bursting. A strange chemistry is concocting here, but how and why, who really knows? Some things are magic, and not quantifiable, not able to be explained, or even expressed fully.
You ask so many questions, and you answer so many questions, and it has been such a long time since you were asked questions about yourself. You feel seen, you feel beautiful, you feel appreciated. You laugh, and you grow warm, and you blush, from your heart up into your face.
You imagine things, things you try not to imagine, but you cannot help yourself. The heart wants what it wants. That voice... it does things to you. Your eyes want to see his eyes in person, and see what is really inside, and your hands want to be tucked inside his, or brush accidentally, causing a spark.
Whether a spark of deepening friendship, or a spark of something else, who knows. I will simply enjoy the anticipation of the next text.
