The cracks of lightning

Glisten off the strands

Of the spiderweb in the corner.

Hail pummels the window,

Violently, decisively,

The heavens trying to break through into the room.

There's a stench of vanilla candles,

Trying and failing to cover the scent of mold,

The scent of death.

They forgot to cover the mirrors.

I sense the presence of evil

Passing through the portal,

Drawn as inexorably as a compass to true north.

My poor dear ones,

There is nothing I can do,

I must move on.

  • May you find yourself in heaven several hours before Satan even knows your dead.
