The Refuge of Obscurity

High in dark waters

A pale light glistens

Beckoning me

Towards the airy world above

Where the whales breach and blow

For the free birds and blue sky

——

'Change your fate,' they call and groan

We'll sell you all you need

To powerize yourself

A new vibration in the light

Just believe

Believe and buy like us

———

The mass of claws all reaching

For sinking dregs of whale's fin

And scraps the birds let fall

It's just a self-exchange

Old claws for old fins

Devour yourself; empower yourself

It's priceless science

——

The claws evolve to fins

Evolve to wings evolve to hands

But only if you buy the sauce

A wing eats claws in fin soup

While hands eat wings from paper plates

Just to drown and sink down

——

To my anonymous claws

All powerless

Pulling scraps from the swollen corpses

Of those evolved to power

Whose salted flesh pulls away

From pale, broken bones

About the Creator

Judah LoVato

My collection of sometimes decent writing

Which I've left "there" for seekers to seek

Though I lack the grandeur of that Pirate King

Perhaps these pebbles can be a light

In this life, this laughing tale
