Angels don't feel Emotions.

Instructions for a Feeling. How to become Emotionless.

By Novel AllenPublished about 16 hours ago Updated about 13 hours ago 2 min read

To become completely Emotionless...Switch places with an Angel.

We somehow always compare the good, the kind and the benevolent acts in nature, to the emotions of angels.

But, angels do not feel emotions - they were created with the inability to judge based on feelings.

It is a well known fact, that angels envy us fragile beings the very thing that makes us human...

Emotions.

They crave that which we wish we could trade with them sometimes:

Happiness

Pain

Heartbreak

Feelings of Lost love.

I think though, they might skip right over

illness and hopelessness.

Angels don't grow old and die.

If only we could be a poem that feels like an instruction ritual, but without encouraging emotional suppression or harm. Instead, treat “becoming emotionless” as a symbolic shedding, a temporary shift in perspective - like stepping into an angel’s vantage point to see your own heart more clearly.

How to Become Emotionless

And...

(“Switch Places with an Angel”)**

1.

Stand at the threshold of your own imagination,

where the warm animal of you

meets the cold idea of you.

Do not cross yet.

Just listen.

2.

Unbutton your pulse.

Let it hang loose,

like a coat you might return to

when the weather of being human

grows too sharp.

3.

Call an angel - not by name,

but by posture.

Tilt your head as if hearing

a distant bell.

Open your palms

as if receiving snowfall

that never melts.

4.

When the air brightens,

step aside.

Let the angel try on your body

like a borrowed garment.

Watch how lightly they wear it,

how nothing clings.

5.

Now slip into their place.

It will feel like standing

in a room made of distant horizons.

Your thoughts will lose their edges.

Your grief will become a quiet bird

perched on a far branch.

6.

Do not stay long.

Angels are terrible at getting groceries,

paying rent, and remembering birthdays.

But for a moment,

let their stillness teach you

how to hold your heart

without squeezing it.

7.

When you return,

your emotions will greet you

like children who thought

you’d left forever -

loud, messy, relieved.

Let them climb into your

arms of acceptance.

Let them be yours again.

Let yourself and your very human emotions...

Be yours again.
