And The Sky Fell
A metaphorical poem, if you haven't already figured it out.
By Nafisa AshrafPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

I stood there waiting for the sky to fall,
like I knew it was supposed to happen.
I stood there waiting.
One day, two days, day after day.
It never fell.
I went home happy.
The sky won't fall anyway.
We'll get by somehow,
living our lives, contented.
Then suddenly,
the sky fell like it was supposed to any day,
surprising me,
like I hadn't known,
the sky was going to fall one day.
