When we parted ways long ago

I hated myself for letting you go

But when we met years later

For the first time in forever

I still see you looking at me like that

Like I’m the most precious thing you’ve ever seen

And I know… we haven’t lost ourselves, yet

I know there’s a chance somewhere in there

And maybe I could make it right this time

Heal the wounds in your heart that I left before

I know you’ll forgive me for the pain I caused

I swear I’ll do it right and make things better

And hope for the best to come

Because nothing else matters now

I know I’ll love you for as long as I live

And I know I can do it.

I can promise you that.
