Love with a sleep disorder

By SweetVanillaSkyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Through the fog when I close my eyes

In the instant before sleep comes

I can feel your soul

Lying next to me

I feel you breathe

What it is to know you are real

Not a figment of my mind

Or part of the charred nightmares

That plague my nights

Even back then

Before we touched

When I slept you held me

Scared off the demons

In the instant before sleep comes

I can feel your soul

Anchoring me to this world

Waking confusion abates

The moment you touch my hand

A grounding that only you could bring

Truer faith I have not known

Than the trust I have in you

Because in the instant before sleep comes

I find solace in your love
