Ancestral Call

The power within

Dear Moon,

Under your glow I walk tonight;

all around me dark and uncertain.

Shadow and doubt fighting for grasp.

Yet, my faith rests in your power, bright.

My path is lit even in the pitch black sight,

Under your protection shadows hide.

Silver linings guide me on my call divine,

transforming shades of pain into light.

Unknown patterns weave before me,

my mind tempted to create monsters,

finding enemies where there are none.

Only past lifetimes long gone.

Were I a skeptic, my legs would falter

as the lonely path grows darker.

At every turn, fear threatens to gain terrain,

but I know my journey is not in vain.

Moon, I will rise like you every night

even when the shade covers me

and I can't seem to reflect the light.

My New beginning will soon be in sight.

Can it be that I'm not the only one?

That others have walked this path of mine,

scared and lonely, but not alone.

An echo of destiny calling them home.

I've stopped in my tracks to sit in darkness,

and stare at you in pure essence.

My eyes rest on your pale face and all else fades,

I feel humbled in your presence.

Wise guide, how are you so far and so close?

Feel so warm and so cold?

So simple and so magnificent?

So delicate, yet your light so bold?

I sit in reverence, legs grounded, heart to the sky,

eyes wide open, spirits high.

My destiny is the question,

my song searching for an answer.

Then, I hear you sing back an ancestral call.

Women of the ages have heard before.

Clear and pure, cutting through the dark.

To break the chains and make my mark.

For aren't we all the same?

Hiding softness and power at once,

Reflecting ice and fire as light,

Mothers and warriors in one.

Your silver glow is a reminder

of the ancestral power I carry within.

Lives worth of wisdom and strength,

Shadows created to let the light in.

Dear friend, I've been chasing magic.

Clinging to safety, the love by my side.

But your voice awakens an ancient truth:

One shouldn't chase what's already inside.
