An Unspoken Apology

#

By Maryam BatoolPublished 12 months ago โ€ข 1 min read

If I am silent, it could be something new

I have you in my heart, and I swear; it's true

.

If I don't speak, maybe I'm terrified too

I'm sad as wellโ€” It's not alone YOU

.

I do make mistakes and I am sorry, See

I am not an angel, neither have I the key

.

But, I wanted you to never cry, my friend

I believe you're there, and it's not our end

.

Now it's my turn to mend and repair it all

We'll grow again, this time without a fall

.

I know you will understand my word

You can decipher all clear and blurred

.

For if I don't speak, the poet in me

Would scream to you, and set my words free

.

When I don't have the words to tell

Read my poem, Oh! you read it, well

.

If you read it then, please give a smile

Please, widen your lips; even for a while

.

When things aren't in my hands or yours

Let time fix it, and open new doors

.

I'm not a traitor, I don't break apart

You have my respect, deep in my heart

.

"If I don't speak, the poet in me would scream to you"โ€”I love that line. Sometimes, poetry says what we can't. This was beautiful.

A beautiful poem, Maryam, Full of heartfelt sentiment. "If you read it then, please give a smile" - with pleasure (because you taught me how to do this!): ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

This is such a heartfelt and beautifully written piece! The sincerity in every line makes it a true unspoken apologyโ€”gentle, poetic, and full of hope. That last stanza? A perfect way to seal it with respect and warmth. Definitely a poem that speaks louder than words! โœจ๐Ÿ’–
