An Ode to the Greeting card
For the Valentine's day
By Salomé SaffiriPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

The messengers of feelings
With heartfelt little greetings
Encourage Cupid's dealings
However fleeting.
Their bodies stamped with glitter,
Their hearts filled with confessions.
In days becoming litter—
An ode to passing passions.
Declaring love with paper,
Three words are printed clear,
For no love can be safer
Than paper souvenir.

Writing - is my purpose. I feel elated when my thoughts assume shapes, and turn into Timberwolves, running through the snowbound planes of fresh paper, leaving the black ink of their paw prints behind.

Nothing so fleeting as a paper promise of love! Lovely poem as and indictment as Shawn pointed out, Salome! Good luck with the challenge!
Well done, both an ode and an indictment.
Love this. Great work.
