An Ode To Nutella.

Nutella nutella,

oh how i love you so,

you taste so nice,

when i get home at night,

you fill me, with pure delight,

but where is my nutella,

you’re out of sight,

where did you go,

oh I need you so,

I’ve looked high and low.

Nutella, nutella,

come back to me,

you taste so great,

I can hardly wait,

til I get home,

and get to taste,

don’t let any go to waste,

you’re smooth chocolate,

in a pancake,

or maybe I should make,

a birthday cake!

Nutella, nutella,

oh I love you so

with you I don’t need a fella.

This was a silly poem I wrote back from my University Days. I was at the time avidly sharing my writing on a UK poetry forum and one day a member challenged me to write a fun little piece outside of my comfort zone. I had mostly been writing pieces to cope with my back then undiagnosed mental illnesses. So writing this piece was a breath of fresh air. It came to mind as I used to have this big jar of Nutella at all times on a shelf by my bed and would often just have a spoon and dig in especially after a night out! Lol.

Anyways if you too love Nutella then feel free to share this poem, leave it a heart and maybe even a little tip it can go to my vegan Nutella fund lol. Sadly I can no longer have the real thing but one time my obsession got so bad I ordered a massive 1kg tub of the stuff and got it sent to my parents work. Because of course what was I a student going to do with a kilogram of Nutella and more importantly where an earth would I store it?!

When they opened it they rang me and were very confused, but my brother appreciated it and ate an awful lot of Nutella pancakes that year! Surprisingly it didn‘t last very long because he really did go over board on the pancakes!!
