An Ode to My Soul

A poem on depression and fighting the urge to shed life

By Natasha MorozovPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

My dearest soul,

I know you're struggling with your pain,

Feeling lost and alone in this life,

But I beg you; please don't throw it away,

For there is still hope and light.

I know the darkness feels unending,

And the weight of life is too much to bear,

But please don't give up on yourself,

And the beauty that's still out there.

It's hard to see through the fog of despair,

And the road ahead may seem unclear,

But please hold on a little longer,

And let the dawn of a new day appear.

For life can be full of wonder,

And there's so much left for you to see,

To feel the warmth of the sun on your face,

And the embrace of the gentle sea.

You are not alone in this world,

And there are those who care for you,

Who love you deeply and want to help,

And see you through your troubles too.

So please, my dearest soul,

Don't give up on this precious life,

And know that there's always hope,

Even in the darkest of times.

Yours always,

Me
