An Occurrence

D8

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Hot as the night when fire rages on.

A new day did beckon like it was all along.

A familiar fiddling song. A cry from outside.

Not a tear, but a party, for fear, did reside.

"Don't look now!" A voice bellowed out.

"Look out!" A new voice. A voice shouting out.

A surprise for them both. Neither one could explain.

Thunder and lightning. A fast-moving train.

What they did see, neither one could believe.

A train made of lightning. A prophecy, foreseen.

The foreseen, it became lost to the folk in the town.

Voices once loud, now quiet around.
