Where did they come from?

In the crosswalk, against the light.

Mom, Dad, two little girls.

Mom holding hands with little ones.

Their blonde curls blowing with the breeze.

Red hair ribbons tied to those golden locks.

Out on some sort of family outing.

Materialized as if from nowhere.

My brain has run empty.

I slam on the brakes and my world goes black.

Barb is a young widow, having lost her husband and best friend at the age of 55. She is now devoted to her two daughters and her two beautiful granddaughters. Her dog is a constant companion.
