An Inexplicable Quandary

A question, if you were

By Vicious AvaricePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

An inexplicable boredom

A wordless silence

Washes over me

When you leave

It takes vibrancy from the sky

Leaving it a flavorless silver

No. Silver shines.

Grey. That is what I see with my eye

The lust for food is vacant

Now sustenance at best

It's flavorless anyway

I can hear every footstep

Every heart beat

I can even hear the buzz of this world

High of pitch and constant.

What I can't hear is an answer.

A simple question is easy, true

But an answer?

Taken. Like the shine of blue

On the tip of my tongue

But I taste nothing

Just in front of me

But I'm too slow to catch it

Is this because you're gone?

Or is this who I am when you're not here?

Was this always me?

I can't remember, or maybe never knew.
