an artist, formerly known

for his irreverence

By ⸘jason alan‽Published 2 months ago Updated 2 months ago 1 min read
"dead rat" ⸘jason alan‽ acrylic on canvass 2025

everybody hates him

that's what his partner says

but he doesn't care about the judgment

and he never will

he isn't as crazy as his inspiration

but his nature is

all the miles he walks are embattled and uphill

because a challenge thrills him

to the point of unique circumvention

people mistake his reservations

because he doesn't always know who he is

and sometimes he is identified by remorse

but never does he regret it

he tip-toes across the line

he wears everything until it frays

and the fabric fades and thins

he doesn't want to know the odds

because he is alive

and behind every smile he grins

they see a reckless miscreation

in what is deliberate

he is outside looking in

part of the plan so finished and whole

balancing duality within a wish

when he needs no assurance

the paradigm of an accident

shifting for his divine mission

he is not plagued by familiar guilt

he is not waiting to listen

he is not the reason

he is an artist

formerly known for his irreverence

now guided by passion

for pushing the thrill

beyond the limits of glass ceilings

and love as it consumes

for his aspirations and rebellion

excommunication is his gift

such economically tragic individuation

This line right here "but never does he regret it" wow. That stayed with me.
