An archetypal anima

Essentially the essence of

My soulful shadow’s stamina

A tale I tell myself thereof

x

So pale I almost pass you by

Ephemeral, wily and sly

When will this well of tears run dry

They well up even as I sigh

x

For once upon a star you see

I found the other half of me

A wilderness I aimed to tame

To find and bind with Nature’s name

x

A kind of kindred spirit calls

To forge a fate within these falls

This fount of youth washes away

The tragedies of yesterday

x

Mirage or madness, couldn’t say

Just why you said you couldn’t stay

Or how it was that you would sway

My mood so I would not dismay

x

At least, not more than suited you

Your shadow’s all that’s left to see

And now you seem oh-so see through

Now no-one’s standing here but me
